Einstein and His Times: Informational Text, Science, and History. Cosmic Times lesson.

This lesson plan uses a newspaper called Cosmic Times (created by NASA) in order to analyze informational text and draw conclusions. Students read the newspaper, which is placed in 1919, as well as analyze other informational texts to determine if Albert Einstein should be elected 1919 Man of the Year. This lesson also provides an opportunity for students to write a persuasive essay. This resource incorporates science as well as history while allowing students to analyze informational text. The lesson utilizes primary and secondary sources and encourages critical thinking as students determine if Albert Einstein should be the 1919 Man of the Year.
