Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens

This online 'learning packet' provides a multimedia biography and bibliography of Mark Twain.  It includes a slideshow that puts his works into a historical context, a YouTube video depicting his early life and some fun facts.  A good primer for students before delving into Mark Twain fictional works that are commonly read and analyzed in Tennessee high school courses, including The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and of course The Adventures of Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn. The presentations provide students with a fuller understanding of the historical period in which Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens had lived as well as prior knowledge before heading into one or several of his most well-known works.
