Inverse of Two Temperatures

Students find a conversion equation that will calculate the corresponding Celsius temperature for any given Fahrenheit temperature. Students learn to graph scatter plots, analyze and graph linear equations, compute and model slope, derive and apply a conversion equation, and analyze inverse relations. Technology:  TI-83 or TI-84 family EasyData Temperature probe Temperature values for Fahrenheit and Celsius are collected and graphed to show inverse relationships.  This activity is an entire lesson plan to address relations and functions in several representations: tabular, scatter plots, graphic models, and analytical.  Students can analyze the relationship in every representation.  Aligned with SPI 3103.3.7 Aligned with SPI 3102.3.6 Aligned with SPI 3102.3.11
