Efficient and effective student learning depends largely upon the strong and positive management of classroom communication in all of its forms and contexts. It is vital that teachers be great communicators and effectively teach their students to be exceptional communicators. This resource introdcues a six step communication continuum for educators to employ in their classrooms.

 

Classroom Management

Share communication media with your students and provide exercises and experiences that improve both listening, speaking, and communication skills. Refer to your curriculum standards, and idedntify standards focused on communication. Address these standards frequently to strengthen student communication across the curriculum. Continually share the importance of communication skills and solicit student input on ways that growth can be encoraged in this area.
