Coordinate Geometry and Transformations
This is actually written as a 5 day unit, but it has several excellent hands-on lab activities that can be incorporated into a lesson on translations and reflections. The activities include the use of a geoboard, a Mira, and tangrams. The activities primarily revolve around coordinate geometry and make good use of the coordinate plane.
The student will use properties of single transformations and compositions of transformations to determine their effect on geometric figures.
