Unit Plans

Unit plans consist of concepts and learning goals that are taught over a period of time and are woven together, often including multiple concepts or subject areas. A unit plan lasts longer than an individual lesson and includes several standards, skills, and desired outcomes for interconnected learning.

Lesson Plans

Lesson plans provide guidance to teachers by describing the sequence of instruction, or 'learning trajectory' for a lesson. These plans are developed by teachers to guide class learning.

Task Arcs

A task arc is a set of related lessons which consists of several tasks and their associated lesson guides. The lessons are focused on a small number of standards within one domain of academic standards for Mathematics.

Activities/Tasks

Learning activities or tasks are discrete pedagogical scenarios. They typically serve as building blocks within larger learning plans such as lessons, task arcs, or units.
