As a classroom teacher I taught Middle School Special Education, Third grade, First grade, and Kindergarten. My career was spent at Caywood Elementary in Lexington, TN. Our aim was always to be at the forefront of education, so RTI, Assessment War Rooms, and Portfolios were commonplace. After leaving the K-12 arena I joined the faculty at the University of TN at Martin where I have been an adjunct instructor for several years. It is the most rewarding job when I walk into a classroom and see one of my former UTM students as teachers. My research interests focuses on pre-service teacher self-efficacy and teacher perceptions of male students.
