Facts, Fake News & Fiction: Using Media Literacy Teaching Tools

Date / time:
Saturday, October 30, 2021 - 9:00am (30 minutes)
Location:
Ezell 109

Information is everywhere and knowing how to critically examine it has never been more important. User-generated content that looks real but lacks facts can be created simply and spread quickly through social media.  How do we know what news to trust? Students need the skills to navigate sources and examine them for bias and credibility. This session will share resources and tools to help students develop media literacy through online simulations, games, and interactive modules--all for free!
