NUMB3RS - Exploring Parabolas
This 20 minute activity is based on an episode of the TV series NUMB3RS. Students will investigate the vertex form of a parabola and how each coefficient effects the parabola’s graph (transformations). A TI-83PLUS or TI-84PLUS is required in this activity. Included are teacher instructions, student worksheets with answer keys, and an extension activity. This is a good activity for discussing coordinates on a parabola and transformations of the parabola based on how the coefficients are altered.
