Expository Text Structure Activities
This Teacher Resource Guide accompanies the Fourth and Fifth Grade (4-5) Student Center Activities developed by the Florida Center for Reading Research and funded by Just Read, Florida!. It is designed to assist teachers in differentiating instruction by using independent student center activities that support comprehension of expository text.
This document contains ready-to-print learning centers, workstations, or student practice games. Several activities are included to help students with components of expository text structure. These components include text features, details in text, main idea and supporting details, paraphrasing text, summarizing expository text, cause and effect, and text structures. There are excellent graphic organizers that can be used with initial instruction as well. Each activity provides student objectives, needed materials, and step-by-step student instructions. Just print, laminate, cut and learn!
