Bubble Gum Physics

When you get on this site click on Bubble Gum Physics. There is a short overview of lesson and a student worksheet can be down loaded for student documentation. Students will determine speed through chewing gum and counting how many times a student chews in a  given time. This activity includes the use of math skills. Students use inquiry to determine the outcome of their investigation. Information from data charts can then be used for creating graphs and diagrams to compare with class data. This site will appeal to elementary students due to being allowed to chew gum. Students can work in groups, partners or individually to collect data. A response chart is included for students to record data. Students can then create their own investigation. A trivia page and history link are provided for additional information. This site also includes several other physic links for review.
