Dr. James Thompson is an Associate Dean of Assessment & Equity and tenure-track Assistant Professor in Eriksson College of Education at Austin Peay State University. Prior to his current academic appointment, he served as a Director of Accreditation and Assessment in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences at Alabama A&M University. He has over 15 years of experience serving in rural and urban K-12 school settings. He began his career as a middle school science teacher prior to being promoted to a district-level administrative position where he served as GEAR-UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Director.
